Terms
Terms of use
The terms for using this website, its free tools and our apps for ChatGPT and Claude. Last reviewed 15 October 2026.
Who we are
This website, its tools and our apps for ChatGPT and Claude are run by Fidesq Business Consulting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17444464. Registered office: The Maltings, 2 Anderson Road, Bearwood, West Midlands, B66 4AR. Contact: [email protected].
By using this website, a tool on it, or one of our apps inside ChatGPT or Claude, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them. Work we do for clients is covered by a separate written agreement, not by these terms.
What the tools and apps are
Our free tools and apps give general information and estimates. That includes the heat pump cost calculator on this site and the Heat Pump Cost Checker UK app in ChatGPT and Claude. They are free to use, and we may change them, pause them or stop them at any time.
Estimates, not quotes or advice. The figures are estimates based on published sources, such as the government's grant rules, the Ofgem price cap and published install costs, and on the details you give. Every figure shows its source and the date we checked it. Your real costs, running costs and grant can differ. They are not a quote, a survey or financial, legal or technical advice. Before you spend money, get quotes from certified installers, who will survey your home, and check the grant rules with the scheme itself.
Grants. Whether a grant applies is decided by the body that runs it, such as Ofgem for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme or Home Energy Scotland, not by us. Our tools say whether you're likely to qualify on the rules as we last checked them.
No recommendations. Our tools don't recommend or rank installers, brands or products, and nobody pays us to appear in them. Links to the MCS installer search and other public registers are there so you can find certified installers yourself.
Using ChatGPT and Claude
Inside ChatGPT or Claude, the conversation is run by OpenAI or Anthropic, and their terms apply to it. Our app supplies the figures and sources; the AI writes the reply around them. Where the AI's own words differ from the figures our app shows, rely on the figures in the app's card and their sources.
Using the site and tools fairly
Please don't misuse the site, the tools or the apps. That means not trying to break or overload them, not using automated means to pull large amounts of data from them, and not using them for anything unlawful. Don't type your name, address or contact details into a tool or app; none of them needs them.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as GOV.UK, Ofgem and the MCS installer search. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content. Their own terms and privacy notices apply once you leave.
Our content
The text, design and code of this website, its tools and our apps belong to Fidesq Business Consulting Ltd or are used with permission. You're welcome to share links to them and to use the results for your own decisions. Please don't copy or republish them as your own. Figures from public sources remain subject to their owners' terms.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep the figures accurate and up to date, but we can't promise the site, tools or apps will always be available, error-free or current. Because they are free and give general estimates, we aren't responsible for decisions you make or losses you suffer from relying on them, including the cost of any work, any grant you don't receive, or loss of profit or business.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you use them as a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
Privacy
Our privacy notice explains what the site, tools and apps collect and what we log.
Changes and the law
We may update these terms. When we do, the "last reviewed" date at the top changes with it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
